Celebrate Family Contest

Our next segment on KSL's Studio 5 is coming up quick and we want YOUR IDEAS!

The theme is "Celebrating Family" and we would like to hear how YOUR family celebrates together.  Whether it is a new baby coming, braces coming off, or going back to school...

WHAT DO YOU CELEBRATE?

AND HOW?

Leave a comment telling us your favorite thing to do when you're together celebrating with y0ur family!

We will be picking TWO winners randomly for a $25 gift card to our store.

My family eats. We eat when something good happens and we eat more when something bad happens. The other thing we do is play pool, when something good happens we all find out way to my Dad's, dinner and the garage for pool and gossip with the fam.

We love to eat also! Love to play Corn holes and just chat to catch up on everyone and what's going on.

We celebrate everything we can but always make it special for big events like back to school, graduation, or a big accomplishment.
We love to go to a park, do potluck and let all the kids run around.

What is it about food! My family eats too! We are getting together in two weeks to bid farewell to my sister and her family as they move back east. We are having a movie party in my backyard. Should be fun!!!

We celebrate summer, and we do this by barbecuing and making home made ice cream. Everyone takes a turn churning the ice cream maker and the rest of the family plays Bocce.

We make up holidays. We celebrate John Adams Day which is July 2, when the country officially declared independence. We let the kids go crazy and light fireworks and have fun games. It is a lot less pressure than the 4th because no one else does it!

We create special memories by celebrating random holidays, which also helps my son appreciate others. For example, we celebrated National Postal Worker day by putting together a gift for our postal worker. Check it out here: http://rookietorockstar.blogspot.com/2011/07/national-postal-worker-day.html
We also celebrate around a theme. We just had our friends over for a PJ's and Pancakes party! So fun!

My family eats too, and plays games. The kids play outside or with toys and the adults and teenagers play board games, card games, sports, just about any game you can think of. And we LOVE it!

For Polynesians, eating is our thing! We love to be involved in each others lives and love spending time with each other playing board/card games, cooking and sports!

Our family always celebrates around food. At Christmas it is a themed progressive dinners (like breakfast, or Italian foods...)to all the families houses to admire everyone's decorations. At Easter we have a big breakfast for dinner and giant Eater egg hunt. For the forth it is brunch after a 5k and water fights to cool down in the sun. Labor day brings dutch oven cooking, marshmallow roasting and camping in grandmas back yard. Halloween is celebrated the day before with a spooky themed dinner and a family Trunk-or-Treat so we can admire all the cousins costumes.

We celebrate all summer long by having homemade ice cream every Sunday night! It is the yummiest tradition ever. This year we have even had homemade ice cream sandwiches from scratch! The ice cream is also a staple at any other family celebration we have! You can't have a party without it!
