November Home & Visiting Teaching

Visiting Teaching:

Did Octobers General Conference leave anyone else wanting to read more from the scriptures and the prophets? It did us! So this month we created adorable bookmarks with quotes from conference for you and paired it with a (to DIE for) Kara Chocolate bar. Bookmarks and chocolate? There's nothing better! Good luck reading through the Ensign for reminders and new revelations from conference, and happy snacking on that yummy chocolate!

Home Teaching:

Because the Ensign is filled with the talks from October's General Conference, what better time to give you a few new favorites from the new sessions! This festive fall-themed gift is filled with chocolate sixlets for your family to share and five quotes from conference to keep or to share! This gift is the perfect little "something" to drop off to your families before the craziness of the holidays set in to remind them of the beautiful words we received last month.

October Home & Visiting Teaching

Fall is here and with that we have created this month's Visiting Teaching Gift so that you and your sisters will be able to add a new decoration to your home.  We have designed a 5"x7" print with the quote "Charity: The Highest, Noblest, Strongest kind of Love."  It will fit perfectly in a frame and is designed with beautiful fall colors.

The message from the Ensign is entitled, "Divine Attributes of Jesus Christ:  Filled with Charity and Love."  We also loved a quote from President Thomas S. Monson... so we included the full message from the Ensign and high-lighted that quote for your sisters.  (see images)  Of course no Pioneer Party gift is complete without a treat - so a yummy milk chocolate Hershey bar is tucked in as well.  Enjoy the beautiful fall weather and this darling Visiting Teaching Gift!

For October Home Teaching: "Finishing With the Torch Still Lit" is the title of the First Presidency Message for October.  One of the quotes from President Uchtdorf says, "This race of discipleship is not a sprint; it's a marathon.  And it makes little difference how fast we go.  In fact, the only way we can lose the race is by finally giving in or giving up."  Pretty cool!  So we have created a little game for your families to play... the idea is to discuss how each of us can make {spiritual} goals and keep them.

Each family member will choose a piece of candy (included in the gift).  Orange means you get to make a personal goal for yourself; yellow prompts you to talk about how to stay motivated to reach this goal; and brown you will discuss how you can help your family members to reach their goals!  We think this will be a great way to incorporate the message into a family, while having fun and having a treat at the same time!  Happy October to you!

April Home & Visiting Teaching

We've used a burlap, a satin coral, and yellow dot ribbon to tie it all up. The tag reads, "Have Courage and Be Kind." The title of the message from the Ensign is "The Attributes of Jesus Christ: Without Guile or Hypocrisy"

We think the advice Cinderella's mother gives to her daughter to "Have Courage and Be Kind" fit so well with the theme of the message. It truly takes courage and kindness to be more like Christ, don't you think?

This month's Home Teaching message President Monson "Calls for Courage."

We've included the full message from the April 2015 Ensign, 10 miniature Pixy Stix, and the tag reads, "Dust yourself off and answer President Monson's Call for Courage." The gift itself is about 4"x6"

November Home & Visiting Teaching Gifts

November's Visiting Teaching gift is a must-have! What better way to "preserve" the words of the prophets than to bottle them up? So we've done just that!

You will get 6 designed cards (each with a different quote from the October 2014 General Conference session), and 3 Pioneer Valley buttercream caramels wrapped up beautifully inside a mason jar.

The tag hanging on the outside says, "Preserve the words of the Prophets" Please see picture for individual quotes that we used.

For this month's Home Teaching gift, we have made a compilation of quotes from October's General Conference, designed as an 8"x10" Subway Art!

We've wrapped the art around a tube of 20 glow sticks, with a tag on the outside that reads, "De-LIGHT in the words of the Prophets."

After unwrapping the art, you can frame the design.

July's Home Teaching Gift this month is perfect to go along with the fun festivity July brings.

The First Presidency Message is entitled, "The Promise of Hearts Turning" and is by President Henry B. Eyring. It is all about the love we have for our families, as well as the love we have for our ancestors.

May Visiting and Home Teaching gifts

For May's Visiting Teaching gift, we've designed three lovely bookmarks using three quotes from April's General Conference.

They are tucked inside a mint green or coral 9" envelope, and also come with two vintage chick-o-stick candies. We've finished the gift off using cream or gray lace and a tag that reads, "May Visiting Teaching, Excerpts from April General Conference 2014"

We think you will love the beautiful color combo of gray, coral, and mint and hope your sisters will enjoy using their bookmarks in months to come!

For this month's Home Teaching we have created a bright colored design that reminds us that "We can always COUNT on our Church Leaders."

The design has four quotes from General Conference. In each square of the design there is a highlighted number that correlates with the quote, this month's message is sure to be a fun way to remember April's General Conference.

Be sure to take a moment sometime this month and COUNT 1, 2, 3, 4...

April Visiting & Home Teaching Gifts

This month's visiting teaching gift is a must have! We have designed a bright and cheerful print that can be put into a frame and displayed in your home.

The quote says, "Jesus Christ saves us from sin and death. For that, he is very literally our Savior and Redeemer." (quote from mormon.org) We've included the official message from the April 2014 Ensign, a bag of (Dessert or Tropical flavored) Skittles, and wrapped it up with a darling ribbon.

You'll want to get yourself one JUST for the darling print that can be framed. Enjoy!

This month's home teaching gift is so bright and fun!

We've used a chevron printed paper sack, filled it with a spring-themed bag of Lifesavers (24 servings), added the message from the April 2014 Ensign, and tied it all together with a cute egg and ribbon.

Enjoy!

The "HE" of the Hershey is showing and a tag covers the "RSHEYS" letters that reads "(HE) is the Good Shepherd and Loves each one of us.  Let us follow His example."

Oh how we love the month of "Love" around here!  This home teaching gift just has that bright, fun look that will get you motivated to go out and home teach!

We've combined the full message from the Ensign (a talk by Pres. Thomas S. Monson titled "Serve the Lord with Love"), a package of gummy hearts (12 servings), and of course a darling tag and ribbon to finish it off with style.

December Visiting Teaching Gifts

December's Visiting Teaching gifts are here!  It is always fun to create gifts around the holiday themes, especially this season.  The title of the message from the Ensign is "The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ:  The Only Begotten Son."

We've used a kraft box (2"x2"4"), filled it with the message (printed on a cream paper), 2 Pioneer Valley buttercream caramels, and a special magnet of Christ.  We received special permission from artist Del Parson (of Utah) to use one of his pictures of Christ, entitled "Jesus of Nazereth."  We added words at the bottom of the magnet "I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God," which is a quote from the message.  We hope that sisters nationwide will be able to view this magnet all year long and have it inspire them daily.

The gift looks darling all done up with a strip of paper wrapped around the box (which has different names of Jesus printed all over it), red jute ribbon, and a darling round tag that wishes your sister a very Merry Christmas.

To purchase a December Visiting Teaching gift, visit our store in Lehi, Utah or shop online here.

p.s. We sell Home Teaching Gifts too!  Check out the link above to see December's gift.

February Visiting Teaching Gifts are READY!

So if you're new to our store and blog, each month we make a Visiting Teaching Gift that goes along with the message in the Ensign from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We started this 10+ years ago, because we had customers coming in every month asking, "I have to go visit teach - what can I take to give?"  We would stop whatever we were doing and help each customer come up with something to give.  After this continuously happened for a few months, we decided we should pre-make some for these certain guests of ours.  And that is how our monthly Visiting Teaching Gifts all started.  I really want to say that we (as far as we know) were the first store to do this sort of thing.  Since then, there are many that sell something monthly... but we are a little partial to ours!

Anyways, as time has gone on, the idea has grown and our store has grown - and we are making lots and lots of VT gifts each month!  It is awesome to see so many sisters go out of their way to buy and give a cute little gift that goes along with the message from the General Relief Society. Just as a reminder, the following message is printed at the top of the monthly message in the Ensign:  "Study this material and, as appropriate, discuss it with the sisters you visit. Use the questions to help you strengthen your sisters and to make Relief Society an active part of your own life."  We hope you use our gift to supplement your own visit and lesson as much as possible... but we also know that there have been numerous sisters contacted and blessed by our very own VT gifts left at their doorsteps when a visit could not happen.

One day, I will give you some details as to what the process is each month to get the VT gifts out to each of you!!  We love it!

This month's gift is a chocolate brown box filled with the following:  strawberry & creme salt water taffy (that is so delish!), chocolate kisses, tissue paper, the message from the Ensign printed on creme with pink and brown accents.  The box is wrapped with pink polka dotted paper, then topped with twisted twine, some fluff (aka tulle), a primitive heart, and a tag that reads, "You are the Heart of the Home."

After reading the message, that is what we felt really stood out:  That each sister truly is the heart of the home.  The following quote is from the message:

"You are the bearers of the children. You are they who nurture them and establish within them the habits of their lives. No other work reaches so close to divinity as does the nurturing of the sons and daughters of God.”

Another idea we thought would be great is to give the sisters you visit a copy of  "The Family:  A Proclamation to the World."  It is always a good reminder of how our families should be organized and what we should be doing.  A copy of that message can be found here.

To purchase the February Visiting Teaching Gift, visit us in our store in Lehi, Utah:  or online here.

Make sure and check out our Home Teaching Gifts, too!  A can of Pringles is covered with a darling wrap, reminding your families to "Pray Always:  So you "CAN" be blessed, gain a testimony, testify to others, develop a relationship with your Heavenly Father, and get answers."  The full message from President Henry B. Eyring, "Exhort Them to Pray" is also printed on the wrap.
