Watch us On TV - Thursday at 11:00

Just wanted to remind you that we will be on
KSL's Studio 5 show, Thursday the 17th, at 11:00 am.

Tune in to see 10 quick ideas for birthday bags -
for kids, teens, and adults!

We will also be showing how to make
a cute little cone-shaped pouch...
perfect for stuffing with some sweet treats or a little gift.

They are a spin on the old fashioned May baskets...
people used to fill them with flowers
and leave on friend's doorsteps as a surprise.

But of course, we have updated and created our own little version...

You won't want to miss it!

Fun Quote for Friday

Just wanted to share this darling little quote with you...
I think it's a good way to start the weekend!

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body - but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, soda pop in the other, body thoroughly used up - totally worn out and screaming, "Woo hoo, what a ride!"

Isn't that cute?! We tie it on little treat bags for birthday gifts.
(I'm not sure who the author is.)
Happy Friday!

September Visiting Teaching Message is out

And we are super excited about it!

The message is titled, "Understand and Live the Gospel of Christ" and has SO many great quotes. One of the lines that stood out to us reads,

"Sisters, now more than ever, we need women to step up and be strong..." which is why we thought this vintage photo fit perfectly.

Our title reads,
"We need STRONG women...
who can harvest and preserve the power of the gospel!"

Isn't it true? Nowdays we HAVE to be strong in order to survive this crazy life!

This quote is printed on the backside of the message.

Since fall is the time to harvest and preserve fruits & veggies, we added a family recipe to our gift. I grew up eating this yummy pear jam. My husband quickly got hooked when we got married, and it is sure to be a favorite within your family, too!

Inside we have included the full message, a Nature Valley granola bar, and of course, the recipe for Pear Preserves.
Here is a picture of everything that is included.
This month's message is $2.75 each.

Please call the store to have them shipped, or email us with your shipping info, credit card #, name, and phone number. Shipping is estimated at $1.00 per message, plus $2.00 for handling.

Toy Sale!

You know those little miniature toys that come in packs of 8 or 10?

The ones that are great for little kid party favors, or prizes for carnivals, fish ponds, classroom games, or potty training rewards?

We have those. Millions of them - seriously!
And this week, they are on sale.

If you find yourself needing these little toys once in awhile, it would be a
great time to stock up.

Most bags of toys are $1.00
(with either 8 or 10 toys in each bag)

Sugar Cookie Fruit Pizzas

I found this idea the other day
and wanted to share it with you.

I have seen the big sugar cookie pizza recipes that you cook on a pizza pan, but I like how these are miniature.

Anything mini is just cute!

So here are the instructions for the easiest version:

Bake or buy your sugar cookies.
Spread strawberry cream cheese on top.
Slice strawberries, kiwi, grapes, etc., and decorate each cookie. Keep it simple.
Arrange your mini fruit pizzas on a pretty platter and there you have it.

Here is a recipe I found on another site that has a variation of the cream cheese topping. It sounds good, too.

1 (18-oz.) pkg. (20 cookies) Pillsbury® Ready to Bake!™ Refrigerated Sugar Cookies
1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
1/2 cup powdered sugar
10 fresh strawberries, quartered
1 kiwi fruit, peeled, cut in half lengthwise and cut into 10 slices
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup fresh raspberries

1. Bake cookies as directed on package. Cool 10 minutes or until completely cooled.
2. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, combine cream cheese, limeade concentrate and powdered sugar; beat until smooth.
3. Spread each cooled cookie with 1 tablespoon cream cheese mixture. Arrange fruit on top of each. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate up to 2 hou

I think these would be so cute for a bridal or baby shower, your next girls night out, a little girl tea party, or just for a fun dessert for your family.

Happy End of Summer Party-ing!
