Pioneer Party

In case you're not a facebook fan, we just wanted to show you some cute vintage Halloween tin signs that we just got in... Since we named our store after our local high school Pioneers, we try hard to stock up on the Purple & White supplies (as well as blue for Westlake, red for American Fork) - and part of that "support" is helping the local kids come up with creative/unique ideas to ask and answer for dances at school.  So we have a binder full of ideas for them, and recently made a small section of items that they can actually pick up all ready to go and ask or answer that special someone!  Here are just a couple of the ideas: A can (or more) with the words "I CAN" typed out on cardstock with googly eyes glued on. We also have little eyeball balloons that would be fun to blow up and hang all over someone's room! Box of Honeycomb cereal with "Honeycomb your hair and come to the dance with me!" Also cute to add an oversized comb or a package of combs with this one. And the best saved for last... "I'll be BRIEF, will you go to the dance with me?" An

So my daughter just turned two!  While thinking of what to do for her birthday party I had two requirements:  easy & inexpensive!  For awhile, I was set on going to a local splash park and just letting the kids play... but realized that Anna wouldn't actually really love that!  Which then made me start to brainstorm... "What are Anna's favorite things?"  I got thinking about how she loves to paint her fingernails, she loves our dogs, she loves to ride our horses, and she loves to color/paint.  The song from "The Sound of Music" kept coming to mind - "These are a few of my favorite things..."  and I added... "Puppies & Ponies & Polish & Painting!"  Every time I read her invite I actually sing it in my mind! I know, cheesy!  But that's just me. Our September message brings a breath of fresh fall air with it!  A darling red gingham lunch sack is filled with the message (of course), a recipe for Autumn Apple Crisp (the boss' family favorite - and easy too!), two nutritious & delicious fruit leathers - all wrapped together with an apple wrap and a delightful sticker. The message is officially entitled, "Our Responsibility to Nurture the Rising Generation."  Since nourishing is a part of nurturing - we wanted to remind sisters to feed the rising generation spiritually .  Kids are always hungry, right?  My little 4 year old would eat non-stop if I let him!  So just as they are always physically hungry - we need to remember that they are also always craving spiritual food .  They would eat it right up if we continually fed it to them! Awhile back, we sponsored a contest HERE and we met (via email) a fellow party gal!  She won $50 towards merchandise at our store, and then she was nice enough to show us some of the details of her cute party.  So check out her daughters darling party...
