Balloon Tip!

Image
We recently had a birthday in the family - and wanted to share a super easy tip!  Are you ready for it?  (It seems like a no-brainer, but many people don't think of it!)   **If you are getting balloons to decorate for a party or to surprise the special someone (especially if they are little!) it is a great idea to tie the balloons at varying heights and spread them throughout the room, instead of just tying them in 2 or 3 bunches.**

It makes the room look fuller, and especially for kids, it makes them feel like the whole house is just full of balloons! You can get small candy to tie them to, tie to doorknobs, or even just grab some toys or items already laying around.

We also got 2 dozen plain balloons (no helium) and blew them up to just lay around the floor.

We tied one birthday present to a few balloons so he could have it all day, and the rest of the gifts were reserved for the birthday party that night.

Also, this was for a 4 year old - who definitely doesn't care abou…

Is it too early to be thinking about Valentines!? (Never!)  It is our favorite holiday around here, and here is an absolutely darling idea!
~ Embellished Sweet Straws ~

This is an easy peasy craft! All you need are these paper straws -{and you are in luck because we carry them at our store & in many colors}, cute cardstock, and non-toxic glue! You can also add stickers, cut-outs, ribbon, or other vintage embellishments if you want {we also carry bakers twine that would be perfect for this project!}

Simply use a heart punch or cut out hearts by hand, embellish them up, and glue to the straw!

Wouldn't these be darling served with strawberry milk on Valentines morning? Or at a school Valentines party? Or at your annual Valentines get-together? The possibilities are endless!

January 2013 Visiting and Home Teaching Gifts

Image
It's a new year! Get your visiting and home teaching done in style with our cute messages this month.
We are loving the color scheme for our visiting teaching message this month! The message is entitled "The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Exemplar."

The message is printed and tucked into a clear cellophane bag, all tied up with a darling tag that reads "As a New Year begins, TAKE 5 to follow in His footsteps," and comes with a yummy "Take 5" candy bar (every girl needs a little chocolate!).

The Home Teaching message for January is called "The Best Time to Plant a Tree" by President Uchtdorf.

We have it bagged in a darling gray chevron bag, stuffed with the message and, of course, treats! The tag on the outside says "The Best Time to Begin is NOW, not LATER" - going right along with the theme of the Now & Later candy inside!

To purchase, please visit our store in Lehi, UT or order online here.

New Years Eve Party Ideas

A FUN PARTY THEME IDEA: Countdown by the Hour (Use a CLOCK theme to carry throughout the decorations and activities) -Paint kids faces white, then use black to draw clock hands. -White balloons (or clear filled with confetti) can be drawn on to look like a clock. -Have guests bring an alarm clock (and gather all of your own)… set the alarms to all go off atmidnight (or earlier, depending upon the ages of the guests). -Kids can decorate a paper plate to look like a clock. Punch a hole in the top, and hang the clocks at different levels from the ceiling. To start out the night… Make an individual party bag for each guest that you will hand each guest at the beginning of the party (instead of the end). Personalize the outside with their name as well as a greeting: “Let’s Start the countdown to 2010!” or “Countdown by the Hour to 2010 starts NOW!” In the bag will be their hat, horns, individual pack of confetti, a champagne glass, a notepad for goal setting, and of course, a treat. A few crea…

December Visiting Teaching Gifts

Image
December's Visiting Teaching gifts are here!  It is always fun to create gifts around the holiday themes, especially this season.  The title of the message from the Ensign is "The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ:  The Only Begotten Son."

We've used a kraft box (2"x2"4"), filled it with the message (printed on a cream paper), 2 Pioneer Valley buttercream caramels, and a special magnet of Christ.  We received special permission from artist Del Parson (of Utah) to use one of his pictures of Christ, entitled "Jesus of Nazereth."  We added words at the bottom of the magnet "I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God," which is a quote from the message.  We hope that sisters nationwide will be able to view this magnet all year long and have it inspire them daily.
The gift looks darling all done up with a strip of paper wrapped around the box (which has different names of Jesus printed all over it), red jute ribbon, and a darling…

12 Days of Christmas Missionary Style

Image
Want a darling package to send to your missionary that is ALL READY to go?  We all have good intentions, but sometimes time slips away and those care packages or other crafts/gifts get put aside.  If you need to send something without all the fuss - let us help!

Each day's card is designed in black and white and starts like this...
"On the (1st) day of Christmas, the Savior gave to me..."
We wanted to emphasize all the many things that the Savior has given all of us.

Here is a brief summary of the candy bars included as well as the "gift" that the Savior has given us on that particular day.  Each card has either a scripture, a quote from a prophet, or lyrics to a song that correlates with the gift.

Day 1 - A "Symphony" of Christmas songs
Day 2 - A gospel that is worth way more than "100 Grand"
Day 3 - A "Sweet" family to enjoy this life with...
Day 4 - An opportunity to be a "Lifesaver" in other's lives...
Day 5 - An …
