February Home & Visiting Teaching

Image
Visiting Teaching:

Love is in the air and this month's Visiting Teaching gift is sure to make your visiting teaching visits a little more "lovely!"  The message from the February Ensign is entitled, "Marriage is Ordained of God."

One of the quotes from the message says, "Now consider what happens in the relationship between the man and the woman as they individually and steadily ‘come unto Christ’ and strive to be ‘perfected in Him’" and we have used "Come Unto Christ with All your Heart" as the title to our gift.

You'll get a white 4"x2"x2" box filled with the message itself and approximately 1.5 oz of milk chocolate Hershey Kisses.  We've wrapped it up with a darling tag, a little polka dot washi tape, and a black ribbon.  Just lovely, if we do say so ourselves!  Happy February!

January Home & Visiting Teaching

Image
Home Teaching:

Everyone wants a clean start with a New Year, right?  We've attached the Home Teaching message from the Ensign to a bottle of hand sanitizer, added some pretty ribbons, and it's ready to go!  The tag reads, "Here's to a Clean Start this New Year."  Keeping it simple is always a good in January!

Visiting Teaching:

It's a New Year and with that comes a brand new start for the monthly themes for Visiting Teaching.  This month the message is on The Family:  A Proclamation to the World.  We have included a copy of the Family Proclamation (a perfect size to keep folded in your scriptures for studying), the message from the Ensign, and a package of Extra gum.  The tag on the outside says "Take the "EXTRA" time to study the Family:  A Proclamation to the World, and Focus on YOUR family this month."  We hope you enjoy your visits this month!

December Home & Visiting Teaching

Image
Visiting Teaching:

The visiting teaching gift for December is sure to be a favorite!  All year long, the messages from the Ensign have focused on "The Divine Attributes of Jesus Christ," so we have taken all of those attributes from the whole year and made a beautiful print, which we've used to "wrap" up the treat and message.

The black chalkboard print includes words like; divine, kind, compassionate, full of glory, merciful, obedient, patient, virtuous, forgiving, etc - and wraps around 1/4 pound of chocolate covered cinnamon bears.  A darling tag ties it all together that reads, "Wrap yourself up in Christlike qualities for a Very Merry Christmas"

Home Teaching:

The message from the Ensign this December is written by the Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson.  It is entitled, "Make Time for the Savior."  What a great topic for this time of year!

We've packaged a delicious box of gourmet candy cane sticks, along with the message itself an…

November Home & Visiting Teaching

Visiting Teaching:
Did Octobers General Conference leave anyone else wanting to read more from the scriptures and the prophets? It did us! So this month we created adorable bookmarks with quotes from conference for you and paired it with a (to DIE for) Kara Chocolate bar. Bookmarks and chocolate? There's nothing better! Good luck reading through the Ensign for reminders and new revelations from conference, and happy snacking on that yummy chocolate!

Home Teaching:
Because the Ensign is filled with the talks from October's General Conference, what better time to give you a few new favorites from the new sessions! This festive fall-themed gift is filled with chocolate sixlets for your family to share and five quotes from conference to keep or to share! This gift is the perfect little "something" to drop off to your families before the craziness of the holidays set in to remind them of the beautiful words we received last month.

MTC Same-Day Delivery - The Ins and Outs of Delivering to your Missionary!

Image
So you have a missionary, do you?  Whether it be your son, daughter, neighbor, friend or a distant relative's 7th cousin - we are here to help you!  We have all the insider's information on how to best send a package to the MTC (Missionary Training Center).  So let's start, shall we?

-There are many Missionary Training Center's (aka MTC) in the world; however, we only deliver to the one here in Provo, Utah.  (What is the Missionary Training Center?  Find out more here.)

-We offer same-day MTC deliveries Monday through Friday, except for major holidays (when the MTC mailroom is closed).  This service is done by MTCdelivery.com (also known as Scoots, Inc).

Pretty legit, right?!
-If you get a package to us by 12:30 pm Monday-Friday, your missionary will get it that SAME DAY!  Doesn't that help ease your mind a little and maybe help him or her feel a tiny bit closer?  We know it's hard to have a loved one "all of a sudden" gone with hardly any contact.

October Home & Visiting Teaching

Image
Fall is here and with that we have created this month's Visiting Teaching Gift so that you and your sisters will be able to add a new decoration to your home.  We have designed a 5"x7" print with the quote "Charity: The Highest, Noblest, Strongest kind of Love."  It will fit perfectly in a frame and is designed with beautiful fall colors.
The message from the Ensign is entitled, "Divine Attributes of Jesus Christ:  Filled with Charity and Love."  We also loved a quote from President Thomas S. Monson... so we included the full message from the Ensign and high-lighted that quote for your sisters.  (see images)  Of course no Pioneer Party gift is complete without a treat - so a yummy milk chocolate Hershey bar is tucked in as well.  Enjoy the beautiful fall weather and this darling Visiting Teaching Gift!

Golden Straw Bunting

Image
We came across this gem on Pinterest and just had to share it! Isn't it the cutest? Party decor or year round home decor (I'm thinking my baby girl's nursery?!) it is cheap, easy, and looks fabulous! Head over to oleanderandpalm.com for the full tutorial.

"Buntings aren't dead yet.  But, I'm trying something a little less country, shabby chic-ish, with this gold straw bunting.  It's light and airy and almost feels like a piece of jewelry for your home.  This Christmas, when we were in Boise, ID, the Anthropology store had a fabulous display made with straws painted gold.  I've been wanting to make a scaled down version for my mantel ever since.
This simple bunting is season-less and can coordinate with any home decor or party theme.
1. You'll need lots of paper straws.  For each triangle you'll need two full length straws and one half length.  You'll also need some heavy thread or twine and a large needle.
2. Start by threading the needle a…
